UEL I didn’t know what you’re trying to achieve – Paul Scholes slams Ten Hag. The legendary Paul Scholes of Manchester United has criticized manager Erik ten Hag for various decisions he made during their Europa League victory over Real Sociedad on Thursday.
The Englishman criticized Ten Hag’s changes and strategies, saying that it “got a chaos” in the second.
Manchester United only managed to score one goal, thanks to a first-half goal from youngster Gamacho, despite needing at least two goals to finish first in their group and avoid a playoff.
Victor Lindelof was replaced by United Scott McTominay in the second, and Donny van de Beek was replaced by Marcus Rashford.
Scholes believed it caused the team to become disorganized, and he was baffled by Ten Hag’s reasoning.
According to Scholes, who spoke to BT Sport, “I think it became a little sloppy that second half; I’m not too sure what he was trying to do.”
However, I felt that the second half was a disaster after being completely in control before those replacements.
