2023 AFCON: Ivorian legend Drogba wary of Super Eagles threat

Cote d’Ivoire football legend Didier Drogba anticipates a challenging encounter against the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Set to clash in their second Group C fixture on January 18 at the Alhassane Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, Drogba believes the Super Eagles, alongside Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, will provide stiff competition.

Drogba, who netted 65 goals for the Elephants, emphasized the competitive nature of all participating teams in the tournament.

He acknowledged Nigeria’s prowess, citing players like Victor Osimhen as assets for the Super Eagles and highlighted the potential surprises from other teams in the group.

The 2023 AFCON, scheduled from January 13 to February 11, promises intense matches as the top two teams from each group advance to the Round of 16.
