UCL Owen Hargreaves tells Chelsea one thing they must do to qualify ahead of Dortmund. Chelsea needs one of its attackers to improve their finishing, according to former Manchester City player Owen Hargreaves, if they are to go beyond Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League’s next round.
Chelsea lost to Dortmund on Wednesday night in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League by a score of 1-0.
At Signal Iduna Park, Karim Adeyemi scored the game’s lone goal to give Dortmund a first-leg edge going into the second leg at Stamford Bridge next month.
Despite losing the first leg to the Bundesliga team in the last-16, Hargreaves thinks Chelsea can still go to the quarterfinal of the Champions League.
“I believe that the match is far from over. Although we saw that Dortmund posed a threat, I believe Chelsea can simply travel to the Bridge and prevail in the second leg.
They controlled the game in the first half, had excellent possession, had excellent offensive players, and appear to be a little more stable defensively.
The game is still far from done, but Chelsea might easily advance to the next round if they work on their finishing and find a player to play up top.
