Wayne Rooney, the new manager of Birmingham City, is expressing interest in signing Jack Butland for his team.
However, the deal may have to wait until the next summer transfer window.
Rooney has recently taken over as the manager, succeeding John Eustace, and is already making plans to shape the squad for the upcoming season.
He has set his sights on Jack Butland, who previously played for Birmingham and was on loan at United before making a move to Crystal Palace. Butland has more recently signed a four-year deal with Rangers in Scotland.
According to The Sun, Rooney is eager to bring Butland back to the Championship and is looking to explore the possibility of ending his contract with Rangers to facilitate the move to Birmingham.
