Chelsea midfielder, Cole Palmer, is on track to make his return in the upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal, which is scheduled for the following Saturday.
However, he will not be available for England’s European Championship qualifier against Ukraine.
Palmer sustained an injury during the first half of a match against Serbia, which ended in a 9-1 victory for England.
His right thigh required bandaging, and he was substituted just six minutes into the second half, with Tino Livramento taking his place.
England Under-21 manager, Carsley, provided an update on Palmer’s condition on Sunday afternoon, stating, “I think Cole would be fine, but we don’t take any chances with any of the players. If there is even a slight doubt that they might miss a weekend game, we expedite their return to their respective clubs as soon as possible.”
He further mentioned, “We could have kept Cole here for another day to assess his condition, but we deemed it best not to. Everyone else is in good shape, with just a few experiencing mild colds and sniffles.”
