U-17 AFCON Burkina Faso coach, Traore plots Golden Eaglets fall. Burkina Faso head coach, Brahima Traore says his side will fight hard to beat the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria to the semi-final ticket at the ongoing 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Algeria.

The Burkinabes booked their spot in the last eight after a hard-fought 2-1 win against Cameroon on Sunday night.

Traore’s side will face the Golden Eaglets in the quarter-finals at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Algiers on Thursday.

It will be the second meeting between both teams in less than a year after the Eaglets defeated Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final of the WAFU B Championship.

The winner of the tie is also guaranteed a place in the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The gaffer hinted that his team will prepare well for the game.

“We had two objectives in this tournament; first to get to the semi-finals and then to fight for the title. We will prepare well for Nigeria to enable us get to the semis and earn the World Cup ticket,” Traore told CAFonline.
