I was placed on life medication – Actress, Mercy Johnson narrates journey with cancer. Popular Mercy Johnson Okojie, a Nigerian actress and producer who was recently diagnosed with cancer, has described her journey through life-saving treatment.
In the most recent episode of her YouTube culinary series Mercy’s Menu, the actress opened out about a cancer scare that led her physicians to put her on life-saving medicine.
The actress went on to say that after undergoing surgery to remove her thyroid, a throat gland, she was put on stringent medication for the rest of her life.
Mercy added, “I had a cancer scare in college, and I had like my thyroid removed. It was a life-changing operation, and it helped me beat cancer. And because we had children, this was like a trip for my husband and myself.
“My last child was 6 months old when we found out, and I learned that I would need to take medicine for the rest of my life while having surgery.
“We had to accept the fact that it was a reality. They told me to take my medication on time and gave me timing instructions. That is the first thing you do after waking up. describing all the adverse effects to me.
