EPL That’s life – PSG coach, Galtier reveals who to blame for Ziyech’s failed transfer move. Christophe Galtier, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, has accused Chelsea of blocking the sale of winger Hakim Ziyech.
Ziyech and PSG reached a personal agreement over a loan move for the remainder of the season, but the deal abruptly fell through on Tuesday night.
Although it was anticipated that PSG and Chelsea would reach a deal, the necessary paperwork for the transfer of the Moroccan player was not submitted in a timely manner.
On the deadline day, Ziyech was in France getting ready to be introduced as a PSG player, but he unwillingly returned to England and will continue the current campaign with Chelsea.
Galtier discussed his club’s unsuccessful attempt to sign Ziyech following PSG’s 3-1 victory over Montpellier on Wednesday night, but he insisted that the French Ligue 1 champions are not to blame.
According to the 56-year-old (via RMC Sport): “We were unable to sign the player we were after for a number of reasons. This workforce is present. The young people will have a voice in this second half of the season because I have a competent staff. Of course, injuries and weariness must be avoided when you have a full schedule.
“I am happy with the team we had at the beginning of the season, albeit we could have added to it when Pablo [Sarabia] left. We failed to succeed. I think that our club is not responsible for this. We look forward. That is how things are; that is life.
