EPL Gakpo mentions two clubs he almost joined ahead of Liverpool. Cody Gakpo, Liverpool’s newest acquisition, revealed that, prior to signing with the Reds, he was considering joining Manchester United and Leeds United of the Premier League.
Gakpo recently moved from PSG Eindhoven to Liverpool in a deal estimated to be for £35 million.
The Netherlands international said, “It was difficult this summer,” in a statement to the Mirror. It was a really stressful time.
“I first believed that I would be joining Manchester United, but things did not work out. Then Leeds United entered.
“They’re a terrific club, but I questioned whether I should go there actually, and when you have plenty of questions, it’s not good,” I said.
