Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper, has provided a positive update on Taiwo Awoniyi’s recovery from his groin injury. The 26-year-old Nigerian striker sustained the injury during Nottingham Forest’s 0-0 draw against Brentford.
Initially expected to be sidelined for about a month, Awoniyi’s recovery is progressing well. He missed Nottingham Forest’s game against Crystal Palace just before the international break but could be back in training soon.
Cooper mentioned, “Taiwo is progressing well. He’s not far off some training, so let’s see how the next week goes, going into the game after Saturday.”
Awoniyi has been in good form, scoring three goals in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest this season.
