AFL: Finidi reflects on Enyimba’s home defeat to Wydad

Enyimba’s head coach, Finidi George, attributed his team’s defeat to Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco in the African Football League quarter-final to their inability to convert their chances.

The Nigerian champions lost 1-0 to Wydad in the first leg of their quarter-final match, with Yayha Jabrane’s first-half penalty making the difference.

Finidi George expressed disappointment over his team’s missed opportunities, including chances by Chijioke Mbaoma, Ekenne Awazie, and Daniel Daga. He emphasized the importance of scoring in football and mentioned that their inability to convert their chances affected the overall result.

Despite the loss, Finidi remains optimistic about the second leg and believes they have a chance to progress to the semi-finals. Enyimba will face Wydad again in the reverse fixture at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca in the coming days.
