World Cup Four managers to replace Gareth Southgate as England head coach revealed.. Four candidates have been identified to succeed Gareth Southgate as England’s head coach.
Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers, and Steve Holland are reportedly on the FA’s shortlist of potential successors to Southgate should he decide to resign in defiance of the country’s football governing body, according to the Telegraph.
Southgate’s contract is up after Euro 2024, although he acknowledged that he was thinking about his options following England’s 2022 FIFA World Cup departure.
Before losing 2-1 to the defending World Cup champions France in the quarterfinal, Southgate’s team performed well in Qatar.
In response to a question on his position as England’s head coach following his team’s elimination, Southgate indicated he would give the matter some thought.
At his post-game press conference, Southgate stated, “I think we have sat and analyzed and reflected after every tournament.”
