EPL Why Leeds’ decision to appoint Sam Allardyce as manager should upset Arsenal. Arsenal fans should be worried about Leeds United’s move to hire Sam Allardyce as their next manager.
The former Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United and West Brom boss is heading to Leeds to become their next boss after the club sacked their manager, Javi Gracia.
According to talkSPORT, Arsenal fans would be left gutted over Allardyce’s imminent appointment at Leeds.
This is because the Englishman boasts a woeful record against Manchester City.
With Leeds United to face Manchester City in their next Premier League game, the Gunners need City to drop points if they wish to swing the league title race back in their favour.
But Allardyce’s record against Manchester City does not suggest that he will do Mikel Arteta’s side a favour this weekend.
Since he first took on City in 1998 with Notts County, the ex-England manager has faced the Sky Blues 34 times in his career, winning just six games, drawing five and losing the other 23.
Allardyce’s most recent result against City was a 5-0 loss and that was with West Brom, a season that saw the Baggies suffer relegation to the second tier.
Meanwhile, his last win against Man City came in 2014, as West Ham beat them 2-1 at Upton Park.
