Dani Alves sacked by club over sexual assault allegations. Dani Alves’ contract with Mexico’s Pumas was canceled on Friday after the seasoned Brazil defender was detained and held without bail in Spain on charges of sexual assault.

According to club president Leopoldo Silva, the Pumas, who recruited Alves in July of last year, “took the decision to terminate the player’s employment contract with just reason.”
