CAF Confederation Cup Rivers United gear up for Diables Noirs test

CAF Confederation Cup Rivers United gear up for Diables Noirs test. Beginning this weekend, the group round of the CAF Confederation Cup will include a game between Rivers United of Nigeria and CSMD Diables Noirs of the Congo.

The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday at Stade Alphonse Massamba-Debat in Brazzaville.

The goal of Rivers United is to become the first Nigerian club to win the CAF Confederations Cup.

Past attempts to reach the final by Enugu Rangers, Heartland, and the disbanded Julius Berger all failed at the very last barrier.

With just one loss in six games, The Pride of Rivers have had a strong start to the 2022–23 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The team led by Stanley Eguma has an experienced roster consisting of talented players that can compete with any competition.

They boast one of the greatest safe hands on the continent in Ghanaian goalkeeper Seidu Mutawakilu, and they can count on Chiamaka Madu and Nyima Nwagua to perform admirably in midfield and on offense.

The other two teas are ASEC Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire and DC Motema Pembe of the Congo Democratic Republic.
