‘Our movie stories better than Bollywood, Hollywood’ – Osuofia. Nkem Owoh, a.k.a. Osuofia, a legendary figure in Nollywood, said on Thursday that the plots of Nigerian films were far superior than those of their Bollywood and Hollywood counterparts.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Osuofia disclosed this (NAN).
He asserts that Nigerian movies depict real-life events and stories, and that it is incorrect to contrast the caliber of Nigerian movies with those produced in developed nations.
He said that only technology purchased from such developed nations was used by Nigerian film makers.
“The plot we adopt is superior than any narrative from any Woods; we lack the technology, but we own the plot.
“We are a developing third-world nation, and people should commend us for the level we have reached.
“I think we will go somewhere because of the tales and creativity among us, if we obtain the technology we need,” the speaker said.
The actor claimed that Nollywood has advanced to the next stage of development with the use of the current technologies.
“If you check the period and how we started, you offer congratulations because we are making a phenomenal improvement in the sector,” said Osuofia, who gave Nollywood a good rating.
With the current state of technology, Nollywood still has a long way to go in the right direction, in my opinion.
However, he advised aspiring performers to exercise patient and observe their development gradually.
