I begged Olamide for two years before he agreed to sign me – Asake

Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, unveiled his journey to signing with YBNL Nation, the record label owned by acclaimed rapper Olamide. Asake shared that he persistently pleaded with Olamide for nearly two years before securing the deal.

In an interview with Hip TV, the ‘Mr Money’ singer revealed that after continuous appeals since 2020, Olamide eventually invited him to his house and offered him the opportunity to join YBNL. Overwhelmed with excitement, Asake immediately accepted the offer, despite Olamide advising him to seek legal counsel and study the contract.

Expressing his enthusiasm for joining the YBNL family, Asake recalled the surreal moment when Olamide, whom he greatly admired, extended the invitation. He eagerly accepted without hesitation, expressing his love and respect for the YBNL collective.

Asake officially signed with YBNL Nation in February 2022, coinciding with the release of his debut extended play, ‘Ololade.’ The EP featured the breakout track ‘Omo Ope,’ a collaboration with Olamide, along with the single ‘Sungba.’

This revelation from Asake sheds light on his persistence and admiration for Olamide’s record label, culminating in a significant milestone in his music career with YBNL Nation.
