Brentford striker Ivan Toney set for ban after pleading guilty to multiple betting charges. Ivan Toney admitted to many violations of the Football Association’s gambling laws and now faces a lengthy suspension.
The Brentford striker is accused of breaking 262 FA gambling laws, according to MailOnline, and the 26-year-old has admitted guilt to’many’ of those accusations while challenging others.
When he started competing in the Premier League, from 2017 and 2021, is when Toney’s alleged gambling violations allegedly occurred.
Toney is currently scheduled to serve a ban and an FA disciplinary process is reportedly about to begin.
Toney has 14 goals for Brentford in the Premier League this year, and he was a candidate to represent England in the upcoming qualifiers for the European Championship against Italy and Ukraine.
Given how the FA has handled similar situations in the past, Toney will now most likely miss the rest of the season.
After admitting to making 1260 bets between 2006 and 2013, Joey Barton was suspended in 2017, although his suspension was later reduced to 13 months after a successful appeal.
Andi Thanoj and Jay Rollins of Boston United received a five-month suspension in 2021 for their combined 757 bets.
