World Cup France suffer major blow, Nkunku ruled out over injury

World Cup France suffer major blow, Nkunku ruled out over injury. Prior to their opening match against Australia on Tuesday of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, France has been struck a significant injury setback.

Christopher Nkunku, a forward for France, injured his knee during practice on Tuesday and will not play in the World Cup.

Following an unrelenting attack from Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, Nkunku hobbled off during a training session. Subsequent scans showed that the star of RB Leipzig will miss this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

The French Football Federation issued the following statement, in part: “Christopher Nkunku will not play in the World Cup.

“Unfortunately, the evening’s scans showed that it was a sprain.

“The entire gang feels heartbroken for Christopher and hopes he recovers quickly.”

The replacement for Nkunku on the France team will be announced when FIFA has approved the medical paperwork.
