Lingard has now disclosed that he dealt with his “personal problem” at Old Trafford in private.

“Also, we kept it hidden away. Of course, we still have a nice relationship and I still support the team.
“That is his predicament. I’m not aware of what was stated or what took place between the manager and him. I shouldn’t make that statement because I don’t really have enough knowledge to remark on it. It’s his circumstance, and that’s how he’s handling it, as I said.
