NPFL Nasarawa Utd get three match ultimatum. The state government has given Nasarawa United’s management and technical staff a three-match deadline as a result of the team’s poor performance in the current Nigeria Premier Football League.
The ultimatum, according to the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development’s public relations officer, Eche Amos, was issued to prevent the team from being relegated at the end of the current campaign.
He claimed that Lucky Yargwa, the commissioner for youth and sports development for Nasarawa State, gave the club’s management the ultimatum following a meeting in Lafia between the ministry and the club’s management, during which Yargwa expressed disappointment with the club’s poor operations in spite of the state government’s significant financial investments in it.
The statement reads, “Based on the outcomes from our pre-season, we felt we had enough talent in the group to finish in the top three from our division. We’ve lost each of the three games we’ve played recently. It stated, “Action must be taken immediately before it is too late.
The Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, expressed his unhappiness quickly after the team’s loss against Akwa United on Sunday. He did not disguise his concerns over the team’s performance this season.
We’ve never wanted to have home games in a foreign stadium. The state government has contributed to the stadium’s continuing refurbishment. The club’s next away game against Gombe United FC on January 29 will mark the start of a three-match requisition for the club’s management and coaching staff.
In addition, Yargwa listed the club’s games against Plateau United at home on February 1 and Shooting Stars away on February 5 as games the club must win. He expressed the hope that the ultimatum would restore the team to its former glory, failing which the state government might be forced to take additional drastic measures.
The team’s dismal performance in the current NPFL season was apologized for to the state government and other important club stakeholders by the club’s chairman, Isaac Danladi, who also promised that the management would not give up on getting the team back to winning ways.
