World Cup 2022: Peter Drury’s Commentary on Rashford’s Freekick Against Wales. Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford scored the first direct freekick goal of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup last night. He opened the scoring for England from about 25 yards out.
Phil Foden doubled England’s advantage less than two minutes later, before Rashford scored his second to seal the win and send Wales crashing out of their first World Cup in 64 years.
