UCL He’s perfect partner for Jorginho, I like his character – Cole, Hoddle hails Chelsea star. Denis Zakaria, a midfielder for the west London side, impressed on his debut, earning the admiration of former Chelsea stars Glenn Hoddle and Joe Cole.
On Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League, Graham Potter’s team overcame Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 thanks in part to a goal from Zakaria, who joined Chelsea on loan from Juventus in the summer.
When commenting on Zakaria’s performance, Cole praised the Swiss star as Jorginho’s ideal midfield partner for Chelsea, while Hoddle praised the player’s moral character.
Cole remarked, “I felt he [Zakaria] was brilliant, I think he got about the pitch, and he was the one your eyes went to because it was his first game,” in a post-game interview with BT Sport.
He was Jorginho’s ideal partner, in my opinion. While Jorginho offered some expertise next to him, the goal would have been an added bonus because he was getting around putting his foot in.
It was his debut game for Chelsea, and Hoddle said of the player, “I liked his spirit and his demeanor on the pitch. He seemed as if he felt at home.”
