U-23 AFCONQ Olympic Eagles bow to pressure against Guinea – Salisu. Salisu Yusuf, the head coach of the Olympic Eagles, acknowledged that his team’s inability to manage pressure after Wednesday’s lackluster 0-0 tie with Guinea.
The team led by Salisu struggled throughout the match and were fortunate to escape with a draw.
The Guineans controlled play and wasted many easy opportunities.
Salisu blamed pressure and a lack of preparation time for his team’s subpar performance.
He told reporters, “My guys capitulated under duress, enabling the Guineans to dominate the game in the middle but without breaking our defense.”
“We wanted to win the game, but our own pressure and lack of teamwork prevented us from doing so.”
