NPFL Lobi Stars goalie Atsaka reveals biggest influence on career. Goalkeeper for Lobi Stars Daniel Atsaka has acknowledged that former Super Eagles goalie Greg Etafia has had a significant impact on his professional development.
Atsaka is now Lobi Stars’ top choice.
When he was a student at the Pepsi Academy in Makurdi, the shot-stopper from Benue first encountered Etafia.
At the time, Etafia, who is now the goalkeepers coach for TX Galaxy of the South African Premier League, was the first choice at Lobi Stars.
“While I was training with PEPSI Academy, he (Greg Etafia) showed interest in me. Before Lobi Stars, we often train in the Aper Aku stadium, he told the press.
“When I was a small lad, Etafia gave me gifts of his jersey, gloves, and boots. The jerseys were allegedly too large, but I insisted on keeping them, the man claimed.
