The Nigeria National League (NNL) has initiated a refresher course for its coaches in preparation for the upcoming season.
This three-day program, which commenced on Monday, is designed to enhance the coaching knowledge and skills of participants in the league.
Forty coaches are currently taking part in the program, which is being conducted at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
The Director-General of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Prof. Olawale Moronkola, officially inaugurated the event.
Prof. Moronkola emphasized that the refresher course aligns with the NIS’s commitment to its core mandate of training and retraining coaches. He believes that this training will significantly benefit the coaches as they prepare for the 2023-24 NNL season.
In his opening address, he stated, “The NIS is determined to enhance the technical expertise of Nigeria National League coaches, hence the partnership with NNL. I urge the participants to remain focused, determined, and committed to making the most of this unique opportunity. Your presence here confirms your collective commitment to help us achieve this vision.”
Upon successful completion of the refresher course, participants will receive NIS certificates, highlighting the importance of continuous learning and skill development in the world of sports coaching.
