Nigeria, Benin Republic jointly submit bid to co-host AFCON 2025

Nigeria, Benin Republic jointly submit bid to co-host AFCON 2025. To co-host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria and its neighboring Benin Republic have jointly filed their applications.

Due to a lack of resources and infrastructure, Guinea, a small country in West Africa, withdrew from hosting the biannual championship.

The two nations have now formally submitted their bids to the Confederation of African Football, according to GHANAsoccernet.com (CAF).

Zambia, Senegal, and South Africa have also filed proposals to host the continent’s premier soccer event.

Between January 5 and January 25, a CAF inspection team will travel to every nation to assess their facilities.

The nation or nations that will host the event on February 10, 2023 will be decided by the continental soccer regulatory body.

You may remember that Nigeria and Ghana shared hosting duties for the AFCON finals in 2000.
