Arsenal’s Gabriel reacts to Brazil’s FIFA World Cup snub. Gabriel Magalhaes, a defender for Arsenal, wrote a mysterious comment in response to not being selected for Brazil’s 2022 FIFA World Cup team.
The 26-man team for Qatar that Brazil manager Tite revealed on Monday included a number of Premier League players.
Richarlison of Everton, Thiago Silva of Chelsea, Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal, and Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal are other Premier League players that made the team, however Roberto Firmino of Liverpool was left out.
While this season’s strong efforts by Magalhaes have propelled Arsenal to the top of the English Premier League standings, he was not included in the team.
The 24-year-old, who has yet to make his senior Brazil debut, was passed over in favor of Thiago Silva of Chelsea, Marquinhos of Paris Saint-Germain, Eder Militao of Real Madrid, and Bremer of Juventus.
Magalhaes has yet to make a clear statement on the situation, but immediately after the team was revealed, the center defender answered a fan on his Instagram story.
I’m reposting a note that said: “Brother, I watched you play football as a young man. You are a source of pride for our community. Magalhaes embellished the caption with a heart and a fist-bump emoji.
Magalhaes has also shown support for some of his colleagues’ social media postings commemorating their own call-ups, such as Jesus’, who shared a video compilation of his career highlights with the captain “Inexplicable.”
