National Sports Festival opening ceremony holds today in Asaba

National Sports Festival opening ceremony holds today in Asaba. The 21st National Sports Festival’s opening ceremony will take place today at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State.

The National Sports Festival is anticipated to include participation from all 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

New up-and-coming artists who will raise the national flag higher on the international stage are anticipated to emerge from the event.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, presented the torch of unity to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday in Asaba.

The whole 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja, have previously been visited by the torch of unity.

On Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari signaled the start of the torch’s journey.

For the sixth consecutive year, Delta State won the festival that Edo State held in 2021.

After earning 158 gold, 116 silver, and 110 bronze medals, Team Delta took first place in the medals standings.
