FA Cup Guardiola reveals how Kompany helped him as manager. Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has praised the club’s former captain, Vincent Kompany.
On Saturday, Manchester City will play Burnley in the FA Cup quarterfinal, and former Belgium international Kompany will attempt to obstruct City’s path to Wembley.
Kompany, who commanded Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, has also brought Burnley dangerously close to Premier League promotion.
When questioned about City’s former captain, Guardiola responded, “Everyone knows he was essential. “He’s one of the greatest legends I ever had, and I find it sad that he occasionally suffered injuries.
“What matters is how he supported me as a manager; he always spoke out for the team and did what he believed was best for the club. He was a great captain and a great person, and I’m very happy for him.
