EPL Why Ederson was not sent off during Man City’s 3-1 win over Arsenal. Although the Brazilian goalkeeper for Manchester City had previously received a warning for giving up a penalty at Arsenal, Ederson was not given a second one.
In the 36th minute, the City goalkeeper received a warning for idling.
The champions were up 1-0 at that moment thanks to a goal from Kevin De Bruyne.
But many Emirates Stadium spectators anticipated seeing a second yellow when Ederson clashed with Eddie Nketiah and referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot.
Taylor did not, however, expel the Brazilian.
Former referee Chris Foy said that Ederson had been “careless and not reckless” in his conduct while talking about the event on Amazon Prime Video.
He said, “No, we don’t [want this kind of penalty to be awarded constantly], but it’s a good judgment and it’s an accurate decision because, despite the fact that Nketiah had played the ball, it was obvious that he had been tripped by him.
