World Cup I hate that rubbish – Roy Keane defends Ronaldo. Roy Keane, a former player for Manchester United, refuted the notion that Portugal would be better off without Cristiano Ronaldo as captain.
Keane made this statement while supporting Ronaldo in the wake of the harsh criticism the former Manchester United forward had received recently.
Remember how Ronaldo received flak for sitting out Portugal’s recent 6-1 victory against Switzerland in the World Cup round of 16?
Gary Neville, a former teammate of Ronaldo, said that Portugal would be better off without the 37-year-old.
Speaking on the development, Keane declared that he detested the notion that Portugal would be better off without Ronaldo.
“We’re better off without Ronaldo” is a common refrain when a team performs well without him. I detest that garbage.
Keane stated, “Juventus have been a disgrace since he went, they have not done anything” (via Extra.ie).
