World Cup He was laughing – Chelsea legend slams Rudiger after Germany’s defeat. German defender Antonio Rudiger has come under fire from Chelsea great Tony Cascarino for making fun of Japanese attacker Takuma Asano after Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to Germany at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In their World Cup Group E opening against Germany, Japan overcame a goal deficit.

Germany’s first goal came from Ilkay Gundogan, but Japan won with to two goals in the second half from Ritsu Doan and Takuma Asano.

Rudiger, though, performed a weird and cartoonish run in the race against Asano throughout the match before directing the ball out of play.

Rudiger, however, infuriated Cascarino, who instantly called attention to the Real Madrid star’s mocking sprint and claimed he was laughing while jogging.

Speaking at TalkSPORT, Cascarino said, “Rudiger there is mocking his opposing position in Asano. That was a peculiar running technique, but he was smiling as he was sprinting.”

“Do you think that Rudiger making fun of the forward when he was sprinting may have contributed to Germany’s sluggish play in the second half of this game?

He was definitely making fun of the Japanese center forward while grinning and racing.
