He scored twice in England’s 3-0 victory over Wales on Tuesday, his first start for the team in Qatar after being used as a substitute in their previous two games.
Rashford’s Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, expressed his satisfaction with the 25-year-old to reporters.
“I am really happy for Marcus. He has really gotten back into form for United, and he is a key member of our team.
“I can’t say enough good things about Marcus. He is a fantastic athlete and a good dude. He made it clear that he belonged there.
England won Group B, defeating Iran and Wales while drawing the United States of America, and advanced to the second round of the 2022 World Cup.
