Wales will build for future after World Cup exit, says Page

Wales will build for future after World Cup exit, says Page. Rob Page, the manager of Wales, praised his team’s “massive achievement” in making it to the World Cup despite leaving Qatar with only one point.

The 3-0 loss to England on Tuesday ended Page’s team’s hopes of making it further than the round of 16, their first World Cup appearance since 1958.

Wales failed to reach those heights in Qatar despite having advanced to the knockout stages of the previous two European Championships, with aging stars Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey playing below their potential.

The BBC quoted Page as saying, “My message is don’t be disappointed. We will once more construct for the future. “That group of players have accomplished an unbelievable feat just by qualifying for the World Cup.”

After a scoreless first half, Bale’s hamstring injury forced him off at halftime, and Wales’ defense crumbled without him.

Before Marcus Rashford added an insurance goal, Phil Foden and two goals from Marcus Rashford in the space of two minutes put England in a strong position to face Senegal in the round of 16.

“I thought first half, we were outstanding. “The effort they put in without the ball was exceptional,” added Page.

“I won’t hear a bad word said about that group of players.” “They’ve given everything today.”
