Sadio Mane Bayern Munich chief Salihamidzic admits error signing Senegalese. Bayern Munich sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, has admitted that the club should have targeted a centre forward during last summer’s transfer window.

Bayern Munich lost Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona last year.

Instead of securing a similar replacement for Lewandowski, the Bundesliga champions went for Liverpool winger, Sadio Mane.

“With Sadio Mane, we’ve signed a new player who can also play as the No.9,” Salihamidzic told reporters via Sport 1.

“In retrospect, of course, you can be the clever one and say: That is not the case.

“Serge, King, Leroy, Sadio, Tel, Choupo, Thomas, Jamal – they’re all top players.”

Mane was recently involved in a bust-up with teammate Leroy Sane following their Champions League defeat to Manchester City in the quarter-final first-leg encounter at the Etihad Stadium.
