Osimhen gets revenge on Kvara as Italian footballers vote him the 2022/23 Serie A Player of the Year

Super Eagles player Victor Osimhen wins the Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) Player of the Year title, exacting revenge on colleague Kvicha Kvaratskhelia of Napoli.

Victor Osimhen was declared the 2022–2023 Serie A season’s finest player at Monday night’s Gran Gala Del Calcio in Milan.

The award is voted on and presented by the Italian Footballers’ Association AIC in recognition of the Napoli striker’s contributions enroute to winning the historic Scudetto last season.

Osimhen finished the 2022/23 season as the top scorer in Serie A with 26 goals, becoming the first ever African Capocannoniere but it still was not enough for him to be named the official player of the season.

Kvaratskhelia did not leave GGDC empty-handed though as he also won the 2022/23 Goal of the Season Award for his mazy run and finish against Atalanta.
