My photo used without my consent — Mr Macaroni on LP flyer. Adebowale Debo Adedayo, often known as Mr. Macaroni, is a well-known activist and content producer from Nigeria who has renounced the Labour Party leaflet that features his image.
According to DAILY POST, Mr. Macaroni expressed his preference for Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, in November 2022 but made it clear that he will not take part in any political campaigns.
However, a Twitter user pointed out to Macaroni on Wednesday the Obi-Datti campaign flier that used his picture.
“Thought @mrmacaronii claimed he would not be campaigning for any party,” the user stated.
In response to the tweet, Macaroni disassociated himself from the campaign brochure and claimed that his image was used without his consent.
To be clear, I’ll address this again. Peter Obi is my first pick, thus I’m voting for him. I have a civic duty to vote, but I’m under no obligation to support him or any other candidate. I have nothing against those who do it, but this was published without my permission.
The news came a few weeks after Nigerian rapper Wizkid, real name Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, similarly distanced himself from a rumored Obi concert.
