Thierry Henry, the former Arsenal captain, has opened up about his viewing experience of the team during the later stages of Arsene Wenger’s tenure and under Unai Emery.
He revealed that he only watched Arsenal play during that time because he felt obligated to do so.
According to the 46-year-old, watching the Gunners during Wenger’s later years and under Emery was a challenging experience.
He, however, expressed contentment with the club’s transformation under Mikel Arteta’s management.
In an interview with The Rest is Football podcast, Henry stated, “Five years ago, I couldn’t relate to the team. I just couldn’t. I was going to the games because I had to, not because I wanted to. It was merely a sense of obligation as an Arsenal fan, not a desire to watch them play. But now, I can see what they’re all about.”
