EPL Ridiculous decision – Jamie Carragher blasts Chelsea owner, Boehly after Potter’s sack. Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool defender, has criticized Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, following the club’s dismissal of Graham Potter on Sunday.
Boehly, who replaced Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich at Chelsea, just joined the club last summer.
Potter was acquired by the American in September from Brighton, a Premier League foe of Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel, the then-Chelsea manager, was fired by Boehly, and Potter took his place.
Yet on Sunday night, Boehly fired Potter following Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
To contrast, Carragher recently attacked Boehly on Twitter by writing: “Todd stated he would be different than Roman.
Graham Potter is in my thoughts, but it was inevitable. Tuchel is not swapped out for Potter. absurd choice from the start.
