EPL Real reason I took Man Utd job – Ten Hag. Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has said that he accepted the position while knowing that “maybe was a risk” due to his intransigence.
Ten Hag joined at Old Trafford last summer from Ajax.
He guided Manchester United to their first trophy in six years on Sunday after defeating Newcastle 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final.
Ten Hag has had to make difficult choices over the past seven months, including letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave Old Trafford and benching club captain Harry Maguire from his starting lineup.
Yet he has also enhanced the club’s atmosphere.
“Maybe taking this job was a risk, but I’m a little bit obstinate, so I did it anyway. I simply adore United.
“It leaves a tremendous effect when I see our clothes, the line between the supporters and the players, Old Trafford, the legacy Sir Alex [Ferguson] left, and so many big players that were nurtured in United teams.
When this chance presented itself, Ten Hag remarked, “I believed this was the appropriate club for me.”
