EPL Real reason I subbed Aubameyang twice against Man City – Potter. Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, has provided an explanation for his decision to intermittently replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during their 1-0 loss to Manchester City.
Within the first five minutes of Saturday’s match at Stamford Bridge, Aubameyang took the position of Raheem Sterling.
Then, in the 68th minute, Potter substituted Omari Hutchinson for him.
As he exited the field, Aubameyang was obviously irritated since his goal-scoring drought had now lasted ten games.
However, Potter told the media after the game that “Manchester City make you run a lot” and that “He came in after one minute, hadn’t played for a long, and put in a fantastic shift for us.
“In my opinion, he gave his all for the squad. He and Hakim [Ziyech] were becoming a little tired, so that was the choice.
I reasoned that we could employ Omari, Conor [Gallagher], and Lewis Hall because we needed a little bit of vitality.
