Champions League They lack physicality to compete – Wenger slams EPL club after latest defeat

Champions League They lack physicality to compete – Wenger slams EPL club after latest defeat. Arsene Wenger, the former manager of Arsenal, said Tottenham lacked the toughness to compete with other clubs.

After the Premier League team was defeated 1-0 by Italian side AC Milan in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 match on Tuesday night, Wenger claimed that Antonio Conte’s team lacks talent despite spending “a lot of money.”

The game was decided by a Brahim Diaz goal, and Conte’s team still has a chance to win at the Tottenham Stadium in the return leg on March 8; this was their second loss in as many days following a humiliating 4-1 loss to Leicester City on Saturday.

Tottenham, despite some significant additions in recent transfer windows, are woefully deficient in Wenger’s opinion in critical areas.

The Frenchman told beIN Sport, “Tottenham for me is a club that is not convincing; they do not have enough top class players.”

In general, he said, “I think this squad lacks pace, they have a mono-rhythm, they don’t alter tempo enough, and they can’t physically compete pace-wise at the highest level right now.

Tottenham Hotspur has been incredibly inconsistent this season and is now outside the top four of the Premier League, behind Newcastle United and Manchester United.

This weekend’s London derby against West Ham United at the Tottenham stadium is the next match for Antonio Conte’s team before another derby against Chelsea.
