CAFWCL Bayelsa Queens seek redemption in bronze battle with Simba

Domo Okara, the head coach of Bayelsa Queens, believes his side can turn things around by finishing third in the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Moroccan hosts AS FAR defeated the Nigerian champions 1-0 in the semi-final on Wednesday night.

On Saturday night, the Prosperity Girls will compete against Tanzania’s Simba Queens for third place at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat (today).

If the Bayelsa Queens win the match, it will be a fitting conclusion to the campaign for the team, who did well in their debut.

Okara thinks they can ride out their unappealing youthful appearance.

Okara said during a news conference, “Unfortunately, we lost the semi-finals game. We were down, but we’ve pulled ourselves up and will provide a strong display on Saturday.

We didn’t come for the bronze medal; we came to win the trophy, but sadly we are in this circumstance, so what we have to do is to redeem ourselves by winning the match, which I would call golden bronze, he added.

As far will play Mamelodi Sundowns in the championship game on Sunday.
