2022 World Cup Southgate ‘disappointed’ despite England’s 6-2 win over Iran. England’s head coach, Gareth Southgate, expressed disappointment after his squad gave up two goals against Iran on Monday.
With a 6-2 victory, the Three Lions began their World Cup 2022 campaign.
After just one hour of play, Southgate’s team led 4-0.
Mehdi Taremi, though, got one back in the 65th minute, and he added a penalty to make it 6-2 with essentially the final kick of the game.
Southgate told reporters after the game, “Really thrilled to win by that margin and play the way we did for the duration of the game.”
“Our mobility and pushing were excellent. Although I must admit that I’m pleased, we shouldn’t be giving up two goals. We will have to fight the US aggressively.
