Peter Obi suggests how Nigeria can end insecurity. On Monday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, proposed a plan for Nigeria to progressively eradicate insecurity.
In an interview with Politics Today on Channels Television, Obi stated his approach to reducing insecurity in Nigeria should be “decisive and immediate,” arguing that the more people who are lifted out of poverty, the less crime there will be.
The former governor of Anambra added that each state ought to be in responsibility of its own security.
A few hours prior to Obi’s remarks, the terrorists who ambushed a train traveling between Abuja and Kaduna on March 28, 2022, freed three of the 62 detainees they had taken hostage.

The Labour Party’s presidential flagbearer said there are numerous measures he would put in place to halt the flood of insecurity, most of which he cannot say on television at the moment, in response to the development and others across the nation.
As President, I will make sure that the economy functions and that more people are lifted out of poverty in order to enhance the security situation in Nigeria, stated Obi.
“Criminality decreases as more individuals are lifted out of poverty. As long like the economy is declining as it is, it is crucial and necessary.
“I have made it clear time and time again that if given the chance, I will make every state accountable for its security.
“I’ll see to it that the governors get the authority they need to protect their state. Even if there are federal police there, they will be accountable to the governor and report to them.
The state would also be permitted to have its own security system if necessary.
