Zamfara: Gov Lawal hails military, sympathizes with victims of bandits’ attacks

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State expressed condolences to communities affected by recent bandit attacks in the state while commending the military’s efforts. He highlighted positive reports on the elimination of numerous bandit leaders across Zamfara and neighboring Northwest forests.

In a statement from his spokesman, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal conveyed deep concern about the recent attacks in Zurmi, Maru, and Tsafe Local Government Areas. He pledged the state government’s commitment to providing assistance and emergency relief materials to affected communities and assured the safety of Zamfara’s residents.

Acknowledging the sacrifices of security forces in safeguarding lives, Lawal affirmed the state’s commitment to furnishing them with necessary logistics and support in the fight against banditry until Zamfara is entirely secure.

The Governor highlighted the successful elimination of key bandit figures, including Kachalla Ali Kawaje, linked to the abduction of students from the Federal University Gusau. He also cited reports of neutralizing other bandit leaders in various locations such as Danjibga, ‘Yar tsakuwa forests, Munhaye forests, Kauran Zomo forest, Dansadau forest, and Akuzo village.

The list of eliminated bandit leaders included individuals like Kachalla Jafaru, Kachalla Barume, Kachalla Shehu, Tsoho, Kachalla Yellow Mai Buhu, Yellow Sirajo, Kachalla Dan Muhammadu, among others, emphasizing the progress made in tackling banditry in the state.
