A tragic incident occurred in Kaduna State, where Grace Chalya Silas, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was fatally stabbed by suspected armed robbers. The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the incident, stating that it took place in the early hours of a Thursday morning.
According to the PPRO, the young woman was engaged in her morning exercise when she was ambushed by criminals who intended to steal her phone. He explained, “She was stabbed by some individuals while she was doing her fitness routine along GRA road in Barnawa this morning. The suspects, riding on a motorcycle, approached her with the intent to snatch her phone. During the struggle for the phone, one of the suspects used a sharp knife to stab her.”
After receiving the information, the police swiftly rushed her to Harmony Hospital, where medical professionals tragically confirmed her death.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Musa Yusuf Garba, has issued instructions for a comprehensive investigation into this incident. The law enforcement authorities are committed to using all available resources to ensure that the culprits responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice.
