Dayo Adeneye, a respected music executive known as D1, has expressed his belief that it is increasingly challenging for artists to create conscious music due to the prevailing moral decline in today’s generation.
In a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, D1 suggested that producing conscious music may not achieve commercial success in the present world.
He remarked, “At this moment, the world is not inclined to embrace conscious content. Is it this generation, which seems confused about their gender identity, that you want to convey conscious messages to? Today, an individual with facial hair may claim, ‘I’m Linda.’ Is it such individuals you intend to engage with conscious lyrics?”
D1 also commented on the materialistic tendencies of many women in this age, asserting that they often focus on their physical attributes in relationships, which can lead men to overlook their other qualities.
He noted that women are sometimes seen as offering little more than their bodies in romantic relationships, making it challenging for men to recognize their intrinsic value beyond their physical aspects.
