‘I didn’t expect it’ – Buju on winning Headies award, Bentley. Sensational Nigerian singer, BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has said he was stunned when he was announced as the winner of the 2022 Headies Next Rated award.
The ‘Finesse’ crooner beat industry rival, Ruger and others to clinch the prestigious award and walked home with a brand new Bentley BENTAYGA SUV star prize.
He said before the event, he bought himself a car as consolation should he lose out.
The singer stated this in a recent interview with Hip TV.
BNXN said, “I was really stunned [winning a Bentley], mainly because I wasn’t expecting it. I thought it would take me a longer time to get a Bentley. I just got a car before that award show because I didn’t want to be pressured by losing the car [Bentley] or not. So, I had to buy another car separately to compensate myself.
“But when I won I was really stunned. Even when they shipped it and brought it to Lagos, it was another, ‘Wow! It’s right here.’
I was really excited.”
